Tartu Ülikooli korraldatavast koroonaviiruse levimuse seireuuringust selgus, et viiruse levimus on laialdane ja nakatunute arv suur, kuid viirusekandjate hulk püsib samas suurusjärgus nagu paar nädalat tagasi. Teadlaste sõnul viitab see novembri lõpus kehtestatud piirangute tõhususele.

11.–21. detsembrini testiti 2500 inimest, kelle seast leiti üle Eesti kokku 30 nakatunut. Neist kahel kolmandikul olid haigustunnused, kuid vaatamata sellele suurem osa neist endal koroonaviirust ei kahtlustanud. Uuringu andmeil on täiskasvanud elanikkonnast nakkusohtlikke inimesi 1,1 protsent ehk umbes 12 000 inimest. See tähendab, et koroonaviirust kannab iga 90. täiskasvanud elanik Eestis.

Seireuuringu juhi, Tartu Ülikooli peremeditsiini professori Ruth Kalda sõnul on viiruse levik endiselt laialdane ja Ida-Virumaal on nakatunud iga 20. elanik, kuid sellegipoolest on Tallinnas ja Ida-Virumaal näha stabiliseerumise märke. Samas tuleb kõikjal suhtuda ettevaatusabinõudesse väga tõsiselt, sest näiteks mitmes Lõuna-Eesti piirkonnas on viiruse levimus kasvanud. «Võime siiski öelda, et 24. novembril kehtestatud üldine maskikandmiskohustus on hakanud mõju avaldama. See annab julgust, et saame reegleid järgides haiguse pidama,» ütles Kalda.

Teadlastele teeb aga muret, et enam kui pooled kergete haigustunnustega nakatunutest ei kahtlusta endal koroonaviirust ega järgi seetõttu ka vastavaid piiranguid. «Arvestades viiruse laialdast levikut Eestis ja haiglate ülekoormust, on äärmiselt oluline, et inimesed läheksid ka pisemate haigustunnuste korral testima, püsiksid kodus ja kasutaksid telefonides HOIA rakendust, mis teavitab kokkupuutest koroonahaigega,» rõhutas Kalda. «Mida vähem on inimeste vahel lähikontakte ja mida varem nakatunuga kokkupuutest teada saadakse, seda paremini õnnestub viiruse levikut pidurdada,» sõnas ta.

Lähikontaktidest hoidumine on tõhusaim viis viiruse pidurdamiseks

Uuringust ilmnes, et maskikandmiskohustust täidab pea 95 protsenti küsitletutest. Suurenenud on ka ohutu vahemaa järgimine. Jätkuvalt on aga levinud nooremate täiskasvanute kohtumine väiksemates seltskondades. Füüsilisi kohtumisi väldivad praegu pooled küsitletutest. Kevadise eriolukorra ajal tegi seda kolmveerand uuringus osalenutest. «See on meie igapäevases käitumises väga oluline valik, mille mõjul on võimalik nakatumiskõvera tõusu takistada ilma, et peaks ametlikke lisameetmeid rakendama,» selgitas Kalda.

«Kutsun kõiki üles saabuvate pühade ajal tähelepanelikkusele enda ja teiste suhtes. Kui piirame oma lähikontakte, püsime haigustunnustega kodus ja kanname avalikes kohtades maske, on lootus, et pärast pühi saavad lapsed taas kooli minna, haiglad tulevad toime ja enam karmimaid piiranguid kehtestama ei pea,» ütles Kalda. Detsembri keskel kehtestatud lisapiirangute mõju saame tema sõnul hinnata paari nädala pärast, kui algab järgmine seireuuringu etapp.
